The InsideOut Readers’ Choice Awards not only recognises and rewards the very best in the business, but it’s also a completely unique campaign where all the winners are voted for by you — our readers and followers, and savvy consumers who strive to make a beautiful home for themselves and their families the UAE, buying from trusted, trend-setting, quality home stores in the region. 


As it is the only awards in the UAE’s interiors industry that is voted for entirely by readers and consumers it is a truly coveted title for brands to win — a sentiment that is reflected in our video, above, where we speak to the winners.  


For our fifth edition, this year more than 30,000 individual votes were cast – a 25% increase from last year – for 246 brands and retailers across 13 categories, and once again it was a hotly-contested race in each one. 


The winners were revealed at a special evening at the five-star rooftop of the Oberoi Hotel Dubai in Business Bay, beautifully decorated with illuminated lights and tables from Desert River, on November 31.


Check out our video, above, to hear from all 13 of the brands who took home a prized trophy. There’s emotion, laughter and lots of thanks expressed in these congratulatory interviews,  from Althaf Ali of LED World feeling overwhelmed after winning in the Best for Lighting category, to Adel Sajan of Danube Home expressing delight at winning in the Best Home Store category for the first time, marking the store as a prime go-to for complete home improvements. 


Ayla Kahwaji, on behalf of Rattan House, says she is honored and proud that the company was voted as the Best Outdoor Store in an awards campaign that is the “readers’ choice”, adding that it will challenge them to continue to be the trendsetters in outdoor furniture. 


Meanwhile, the team from Kährs by Nordic Homeworx jump for joy after scooping the Best for Flooring award for the fourth time! Another consistently popular vote, Interiors claimed the top spot in the Best Luxury Home Store category for the fourth time too, and Raed Dibs says he is truly encouraged by the votes coming from the readers of a prestigious title like InsideOut. 


Aanchal Gulati of Vandervin Arts thanks their followers and clients for helping the bespoke art consultancy win Best for Art and Objet after 10 years working in the industry. Alima Rizvi from York Furnishings congratulates the team for their continued hard work and efforts after winning Best for Soft Furnishings on the night. 


Janaika Elders, whose Dubai-based boutique Urban Nest won Best for Home Accessories, says it’s such an honour for her start-up to win in this competitive category, while Kym Jackson Shen, founder of new e-store and styling service Haute Bohème, was amazed at picking up a gong in the Best Newcomer category.
