The Palm, Dubai
From Dh6.9 million
Set to open Q4 2019, the Royal Atlantis Residences is a luxurious 43-story building with 231 residential homes comprising two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom residences including Skycourts, Penthouses and Garden Suites, ranging from 1,434 to 17,088 square feet. Led by Elie Gamburg, director at Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, the Royal Atlantis is considered an architectural and design masterpiece, with its contemporary living spaces cantilevered into the Arabian sky. With a form that is as much defined by its voids as by the structure itself, the building turns these open spaces into a series of lushly-landscaped terraces and sky courts with private pools and shaded gardens. These openings maximise exposure to the Gulf and the Dubai skyline, and direct prevailing breezes through the building.
For the interiors Paris-based design firm Sybille de Margerie Interiors has applied unique solutions, elegant finishing touches and creative use of colour, light and texture with an emphasis on imaginative and innovative style. The light, texture and colour were primarily inspired by the setting sun and sea surroundings. A host of talented modern artists including Annie Trussart, Celine Alexandre, Helen Amy Murray and Isabelle Poupinel have been commissioned to create original works to personalise each home. From these artists residents can select fine textiles, architectural embroidery, hand-sculpted leather and delicate porcelain pieces, bringing classic European style to the palatial homes. With luminous metalworks mixing glasspearls and metal mesh, gilded walls with 22-carat gold wave sihouettes and hand-crafted textiles adding curves and geometric dimensions, the design options are fascinating and fabulous.
