The piece:

German outdoor furniture company Dedon’s Swingrest is ideal for suspending on a terrace or balcony, but can also be used indoors. This serene hanging sofa is made from Dedon’s own hard-wearing, non-toxic and recyclable synthetic fibre and features a resin table top that can rotate 180 degrees, as well as a removable canopy that provides shade and privacy,

The background:

Romanian architect Daniel Pouzet took inspiration from Dedon’s own island resort in the Philippines. A soft curving back supports the simple and spacious basket-like structure, which can also be used as a standing lounger by attaching a base.

The details:

Swingrest weighs 45kg and measures 196cm by 67cm. The lounger is available in a chalk or natural-coloured fibre that can be cleaned with a soft cloth and warm water. The acrylic cotton cushions are available in a wide variety of colours. Swingrest is available from Nakkash Gallery for Dh45,800.
