In a city well known for its record-breaking pursuits, one of Dubai’s most impressive is Ski Dubai, the Middle East’s first indoor ski resort and snow park, which opened in 2005 at Mall of the Emirates. To create a more stunning vantage point, the adjoining Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates has recently completed an extensive Dh368-million renovation, unveiling the Aspen Ski Chalets. Billing itself as an exclusive hotel within a hotel, the 15 luxurious chalets offer a unique escape from the desert for those wanting a wintery retreat for a night or two. The interiors were designed by Wimberly Interiors in collaboration with the owner, and all the furnishings and artwork are bespoke.

With a palette of rich brown and soft white, the chalets feature an authentic alpine design including natural wood beams and flooring, a rustic stone wall with inset fireplace, a solid cross-cut walnut wood dining table, and cosy seating options. All is overlaid with clever finishing touches, such as antler chandeliers, textured rugs, and tactile materials including wool, linen, leather and faux fur.

The impressive three-bedroom Aspen Ski Chalet – shown above – is set over three floors with views overlooking Ski Dubai’s powdery slopes, as well as the city’s inspiring skyline. Accommodating up to six adults, the living and dining area features a separate kitchen, grand staircase, and three marble bathrooms with freestanding bathtubs. Perfect for a relaxing après-ski experience!
